Overnight to Kitzbühel

Kitzbühel in Winter

When your journey begins in the evening, your winter vacation is already well on its way: Travel comfortably overnight to Kitzbühel on the Urlaubs-Express. As the train makes its way toward the Alps, you can leave the daily grind behind and look forward to snow-capped mountains, long days on the slopes, and the special atmosphere of one of Austria’s most famous winter sports resorts. The next morning, you’ll arrive in Kitzbühel, nestled in the heart of the Tyrolean mountains. Instead of a long drive on winter roads, you’ll start your vacation feeling relaxed, and from here, it’s just a short walk to the various areas of the KitzSki network. Kitzbühel combines winter sports with a unique blend of Alpine tradition and vibrant local life. Surrounded by the historic old town, the Hahnenkamm, and the numerous huts and mountain restaurants, your day on the slopes begins just as effortlessly as it can end later in a cozy atmosphere.

With 233 kilometers of slopes and 58 lifts, KitzSki offers an expansive ski area surrounding Kitzbühel, Kirchberg, Jochberg, and Pass Thurn. Wide slopes for leisurely turns alternate with more challenging runs, offering plenty of options for both beginners and experienced winter sports enthusiasts. The heart of the ski area is the Hahnenkamm, home to the world-famous Streif. From here, the interconnected network of runs extends via Pengelstein and Jochberg toward Pass Thurn. Those looking for a more leisurely experience will find, among other places, varied runs and impressive views of the surrounding mountains on the Kitzbüheler Horn.

Even without your own car, you can easily explore the region. Ski buses, public buses, and train connections provide access to the various valley stations and towns around Kitzbühel. This way, you can relax and enjoy your winter vacation while discovering a different part of KitzSki every day.
