The couchette coach – relaxed travel with plenty of space
The sleeper car is the basic option on our UEX night trains. When you book an entire compartment, you’ll have four or six berths at your disposal, depending on the car model. Children under four years of age can travel with you without their own bed.
The “Max2 Sleeper Car” category offers even more space. Here, you can book a single seat, with the compartment accommodating no more than two passengers. This allows you to enjoy more privacy, extra space, and significantly more storage space during the trip.
If you are traveling together as a group and make a reservation accordingly, we will accommodate you in the same compartment whenever possible. Our sleeper compartments feature a table and are equipped with reading lights and curtains.
The Sleeper Car—while you dream of your vacation, we’ll take you there
The sleeper car is the most comfortable way to travel overnight on the Urlaubs-Express. Our cozy compartments can accommodate up to three people and are ideal for couples, friends, or solo travelers who want a little extra comfort and privacy.
Each compartment has its own wash area with a mirror, sink, electrical outlet, and storage space—ideal for your personal morning and evening routines on board. The sleeper cars are usually located at the front or rear of the train. This means there’s very little through traffic, creating the perfect conditions for a quiet, undisturbed night’s sleep.
The Junior Suite—the top category on the Urlaubs-Express
Our Junior Suite combines comfort and privacy with a spacious feel. It consists of two interconnected sleeper car compartments connected by a door.
By separating the living area from the sleeping area, one person can go to bed while the other continues to read in a relaxed atmosphere. Families benefit as well: While the children sleep undisturbed, the parents can wind down the evening in the adjacent area.
Both areas have their own washbasin with a mirror, electrical outlet, and counter space. The Junior Suite offers additional storage space and can accommodate up to three people.
