Your winter getaway begins in the evening, and by the next morning you’ll already be in the heart of the SalzburgerLand: The Urlaubs-Express takes you comfortably overnight directly to St. Johann im Pongau. As the landscape rolls by outside toward the Alps, you can sit back and look forward to the days ahead in the snow right from your seat on board. Upon arrival in St. Johann, you’ll be very close to one of the access points to Snow Space Salzburg. The Alpendorf district is part of the ski area itself and offers an ideal starting point for your first day of skiing. Other areas around Wagrain and Flachau are also easily accessible from here.
Here you’ll find a diverse winter destination with well-maintained slopes, modern ski lifts, and numerous mountain huts.
From St. Johann through Wagrain to Flachau
Snow Space Salzburg connects the three well-known winter sports resorts of St. Johann/Alpendorf, Wagrain, and Flachau. Within Snow Space itself, there are approximately 120 kilometers of slopes and 45 ski lifts. When you include the connected ski areas toward Flachauwinkl, Kleinarl, and Zauchensee, the total extends to just under 210 kilometers of slopes and 70 lifts.
Wide blue and red runs make the region particularly appealing to leisure skiers and families, while more challenging runs and World Cup courses also offer plenty for experienced skiers. Thanks to the connection between the various ski mountains, you can start your day in St. Johann and explore new areas of the ski resort as the day goes on.
Along the way, numerous ski huts and mountain restaurants invite you to take a break. And if you’re staying for several days, you can discover even more with the Ski amadé ski pass: The network includes numerous other ski areas in the SalzburgerLand and Styria. This way, you can tailor every day of your vacation to your preferences, the weather, and your personal skiing ability.

To ensure you can relax and enjoy your trip right from the start, we offer our winter sports guests a free ski compartment for skis and snowboards. This leaves more space in your own compartment for luggage and personal items.
Your winter sports equipment will be stored separately during the trip and is securely stowed away. This gives you more room to move around in the seating, reclining, or sleeping cars and makes traveling together even more enjoyable, especially for groups.
