When you arrive in Zell am See, you’re already right in the heart of your vacation region. The Schmittenhöhe rises directly above the town and offers several access points to the ski area. If you’d like to continue on to Kaprun and the Kitzsteinhorn, you can easily reach the valley stations there using the region’s public transportation and ski buses.
Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn—two ski mountains, countless possibilities
Just above Zell am See, the Schmittenhöhe offers 77 kilometers of slopes and 27 lifts. The area features both wide family-friendly slopes and more challenging runs. The panoramic view is particularly impressive: from many areas of the ski resort, the view stretches across Lake Zell to numerous three-thousand-meter peaks in the surrounding Alps.
Kaprun is home to the Kitzsteinhorn, the region’s second-largest winter sports area. The glacier ski area offers 61 kilometers of slopes, expansive runs, freeride routes, and snow parks. Thanks to its high altitude, the ski season here lasts from fall well into spring, provided there is sufficient snow.
Those who want to explore even more can use the Ski ALPIN CARD to access a total of 408 kilometers of slopes in Zell am See-Kaprun and the neighboring Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. In this way, the region combines the convenient UEX stop in Zell am See with an exceptionally wide range of winter sports options.

Your winter sports equipment will be stored separately during the trip and is securely stowed away. This gives you more room to move around in the seating, reclining, or sleeping cars and makes traveling together even more enjoyable, especially for groups.
