The first season of the Urlaubs-Express night train Basel – Ostseebad Binz came to an end with the journey from August 13 to 14. Overall, the trains operated by Train4you achieved an average occupancy rate of more than 80 percent in the premiere season. The boarding points of Basel, Freiburg, Karlsruhe and Mannheim were heavily frequented, with demand for trips to the Baltic Sea developing particularly strongly among Swiss guests over the course of the season. There was also very strong demand for the option to take bicycles. “For a subsequently launched connection and under the influence of the long booking restraint due to Corona, we are very satisfied with the result. We hope to be able to convince even more guests of the advantages of this exclusive direct night train connection next summer,” says Train4you managing director Niko Maedge
The Urlaubs-Express will offer the Basel – Ostseebad Binz route, which can also be booked as a car train between Lörrach and Hamburg, again in the summer of 2022, expanding the service. The new UEX program with all traffic days will be released for booking in mid-September. The starting prices for the Basel – Ostseebad Binz connection will remain stable compared to 2021. In the cheapest category, single berth couchette car, the one-way ticket for the entire Basel – Binz route will again cost from 89 euros. A compartment booking in the sleeper car is on offer from 389 euros.
