UEX 2021 summer season ends sucessfully

Even more UEX in 2022!

In the morning of Sunday 17th, the fifth summer season of the Urlaubs-Express came to an end with the punctual arrival of UEX 1846 in Hamburg-Altona. From the end of June to mid-October, the UEX trains completed 131 journeys. Due to the Corona crisis, the Urlaubs-Express was only able to start its summer services about two months later. In this shortened summer season, the UEX set its own record with an occupancy rate of well over 90 %. The international long-distance services from Hamburg and Düsseldorf to Verona were particularly popular, reporting “fully booked” on almost all dates. The trains to and from Villach also recorded a significant increase.

“We sincerely thank our guests who have remained loyal to us after the almost complete cancellation of the 2020 season. Our thanks also go, of course, to our national as well as international distribution partners and the UEX crews on board, who have once again received much praise for their friendliness and good service,” says Train4you Managing Director Niko Maedge.

“With this upswing, we are already looking forward to 2022, when the UEX offer will be significantly expanded once again,” Maedge continues. In addition to this year’s new, very well-received UEX Night Basel – Ostseebad Binz, an exclusive night train connection from Munich to Rügen will now also be added next summer.

The UEX summer programme 2022 is already open for booking. In addition to the motorail classics to Verona, Villach, Innsbruck, Munich and Lörrach, the UEX is strengthening its night train offer for guests without a vehicle.

After the regular break, the holiday express starts the winter season on 25 December. From Hamburg and North Rhine-Westphalia, the most beautiful winter sports areas in Bavaria and Tyrol will be served again. In addition to the direct connections to the legendary St. Anton with previous stops in Munich, Kufstein, Wörgl, Jenbach, Innsbruck, Ötztal and Landeck-Zams, there is a transfer connection in Wörgl to Zell am See via Kirchberg, Kitzbühel, St. Johann and Saalfelden. The ticket for the connections is already included in the UEX price. On the Hamburg – Munich – Hamburg route, car transport is also available as an option in winter. As always with the Urlaubs-Express, the following applies to all trains: book early and secure the best prices. Seat reservation is included at no extra cost.
