From Bavaria and Tyrol directly overnight to the German coast – the new Urlaubs-Express Munich – Ostseebad Binz makes it possible.
This train takes you from Munich via Augsburg, Ansbach and Würzburg comfortably and without changing trains via Hanover, Hamburg, Schwerin, Rostock, Ribnitz-Damgarten and Stralsund to the beautiful island of Rügen with stops in Bergen and Ostseebad Binz. The train departs from Munich on Friday evenings, making it ideal for reaching holiday destinations in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern when the beds change in the accomodations on Saturday. The return trips take place on Saturday evening. On some days in August, this train even departs from Innsbruck. Between Munich east and/or Innsbruck and Hamburg the Urlaubs-Express operates also as motorail train.
In the period from July 15th to August 19th, 2022, this Urlaubs-Express always departs from Munich at 20:05 on Fridays and arrives at Binz on Germany’s largest island of Rügen at 10:35 on Saturdays.
With this train, the Urlaubs-Expresss is once again significantly expanding connections to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the Baltic Sea. In 2021, the UEX direct connection Basel – Ostseebad Binz had already been carried out for the first time and was strongly accepted. Niko Maedge, Managing Director of Train4you Vertriebs GmbH, says: “We are delighted to be able to offer new connections with our Urlaubs-Express and would like to thank all those involved in supporting this project. The future belongs to the night train as a comfortable and climate-friendly travel option, and we are confident that Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the island of Rügen will benefit from the new UEX connection.
Comfortable couchette and sleeper cars are available to guests on the Urlaubs-Express. Drinks and hot and cold snacks are available on board. Bicycles can be loaded for a fee in the accompanying transport car.
