Jenbach is located in the Lower Inn Valley in the Karwendel Silver Region. With just under 7,000 inhabitants, Jenbach is one of the 20 market towns in Tyrol. Locals and guests alike appreciate Jenbach’s location between the foothills of the Karwendel Mountains and the Rofan Mountains, but also its proximity to Lake Achensee. The well-signposted network of paths in the midst of the landscape and the mountain world attracts numerous hikers and skiers to the region in winter. Always worth a visit is Tratzberg Castle, which was built between the towns of Stans and Jenbach over 500 years ago. A fascinating radio play takes visitors young and old back to the age of chivalry and provides insights into life in the Renaissance castle at that time. Rides on the two historic railways from Jenbach are also a special experience. The oldest cogwheel locomotive has been bringing guests and locals to Lake Achensee for over 100 years. In addition, you can take a steam train of the Zillertal Railway on 32 kilometres of narrow-gauge tracks through the Zillertal.
