JENBACH
Jenbach is located in the Lower Inn Valley in the Karwendel Silver Region. With just under 7,000 inhabitants, Jenbach is one of the 20 market towns in Tyrol. Locals and guests alike appreciate Jenbach’s location between the foothills of the Karwendel and Rofan mountain ranges, as well as its proximity to Lake Achensee. The well-signposted network of trails through the countryside and mountains attracts numerous hikers and skiers to the region in winter. Tratzberg Castle, built over 500 years ago between the villages of Stans and Jenbach, is always worth a visit. A fascinating audio tour takes visitors young and old back to the days of chivalry and provides insights into life in the Renaissance castle at that time. A special experience is also the ride on the two historic railways from Jenbach. The oldest cog railway has been transporting guests and locals to Lake Achensee for over 100 years. In addition, a steam train from the Zillertal Railway takes you on a 32-kilometre narrow-gauge track through the Zillertal. Photo: Adobe Stock/foto-select
