Our tip: From Innsbruck to Venice
It is the city of gondolas and it is the city of love and it is admittedly a few kilometres from Innsbruck to the lagoon city. But the journey alone is worth it, as we all know that the journey is the destination. We travel through South Tyrol via Bolzano to Trento and then directly to Venice. The Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s Basilica and the Grand Canal are the sights that appear in every travel guide, and rightly so. But that’s not all the city by the sea has to offer. It’s much more about walking through the narrow streets, finding a hidden trattoria away from the hotspots and lingering in a small café beyond the Piazza San Marco. Riding the gondola is not forbidden, of course, even if you don’t want to be a classic tourist. It is an experience and is hereby strongly recommended.
